Pt.2 Just Passing Through: The Framework
Remember the life cycle in science class. Every organism and system moves through its life on this cycle. The butterfly doesn’t begin as a beautiful, winged creature. It begins as a caterpillar then creates a cocoon for its own dark, lonely transformation. Even the rain from the clouds are condensed dew from the grass and steam from the ocean and waterways. We even see this process in other aspects of life.
From seasons. To government. From child rearing. To old age. From your vast range of emotions at any given moment. To thoughts about your present circumstances. From childhood. To confusing adolescence. Nothing is final. Nothing is fatal. All is truly a miracle. Life is cyclic where nothing is permanent and everything is temporary. Moving form Yin to Yang then back from Yang to Yin. It’s continuous.

We feel the weight of suffering when we forget this truth. When we allow whatever is going on to take hold in our psyche as something that will last forever. It feels like forever. Every cell is in pain. Each tear shed in agony. Our perspective narrows when we focus only on what is right in front of us. Rather than expanding our perspective to not only what is in front of us but what is within us, what caused us and what continues to fuel us..
Each stage of existing is precious and inherently deserves acknowledgement. Yet our egos seek to grasp the good and focus on the bad. While our souls remind us that “This too shall pass.”
In this blog post, I’ll give you my personal play by play for passing through experiences, emotions and perspectives no matter how tough or narrow. Plus there will be a simplification and expansion of the true meaning of your life here on earth. You’ll discover WHY that should affect every action and interaction. Here are the main points:
Cyclic nature of the soul
Linear nature of the ego

Cyclic Nature of the Soul
Here on this planet there is a cycle for Souls in this Earth Mastery school - where you and I came to play, exist and love. That is our intricate cycle.
Let’s make things simple. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. Not a human having a spiritual experience. This spirit aspect of us is our soul (Self, Prana, Qi or whatever you’d like to call it). The Soul operates in cycles that are timeless, fluid and expansive. Like rippling waves outwards from the center point.
If you look into nature, you will notice that there are never any straight lines. Everything is circular to some degree. This finding holds the truth of our divine and infinite nature. There is a constant unfolding - a continuous process of growth, expansion and return. Similar to the rings of a very ancient tree. Since the realist aspect of you is never ending and infinite - worry, fear, anxiety, doubt confine your spirit in a way that feels so uncomfortable.
This is why you feel so bad when these emotions surface. Because your Soul, the real part of you, isn’t believing those feelings as truths but more like experiences. How are you responding to your emotions? Are your emotions responding to you or vice versa?
You are both the gardener and the garden. Observe yourself. Show interest. Choose what waters you.
Tend to yourself.
Linear Nature of the Ego
The ego is rooted in a linear, time bound framework. It measures success in progress, achievements and goals over existence, learning and experiencing. This is the aspect of you that is over analyzing the past or creating anxious thoughts of the future. Like over extended schedule, when you consistently live within the paradigm of your ego there is a constant push and pull. This energetically distorts your perception — therefore influencing your emotions in a certain way.

One way to dissipate the ego is with gratitude. The ego is always convincing you that you need to be more, have more or do more. Contentment seems futile. Please note, human life isn’t about having “no ego” or “killing the ego” but rather about maturing it and widening the ego’s perspective. Surrender
Repeating this phrase when you are internally flustered or when you want to ground yourself —“I surrender to this moment.” can be a perfect reminder for your internal state of being to relax. By releasing resistance inside, your body releases tension not the outside. Gratitude helps you see the hidden blessings in challenging moments and strengthens your inner peace. It’s about trusting that whatever is happening is bringing you closer to your higher truth and deeper love.
The JPT Framework
We all know that there are ‘gurus’ and magical mystics that are sharing the notion.
“ Just be happy.”
“Stillness is the path”
“Alignment is all that matters.”
But how do you get there?
How do you feel good when you feel bad about your circumstances?
These are questions that I’ve had too. To practically transcend circumstances and the emotions that come with them, you must be willing to face them head on. Instead of hiding from the discomfort, distracting yourself or running towards a vice, you ignite the courageous fire within you to be curious, gentle and accountable towards all parts of yourself.
The intention of the JPT framework is to offer you a tangible and spiritually grounded method for navigating emotional turbulence.
So this is for you to try any time you are having big emotions, focusing on a ‘problem’ or wishing things would be different.
The Just Passing Through Method
Acronym: P.A.S.S.
Pause
Taking a moment to stop, breathe, and center yourself. This is where the emotional storm might be overwhelming, but instead of reacting immediately, you step back. You create space between yourself and the emotion, recognizing that you are not defined by it.
Acknowledge
Recognize the emotion or experience without judgment. Acknowledge it as part of the human experience. Rather than resisting, you accept its presence with compassion, knowing that it’s transient and doesn’t define your whole being. You allow it to exist, without attaching to it.
Surrender
This is the part where you allow yourself to let go of the need for control. It’s about releasing the resistance. When you surrender, you open up to the possibility that your discomfort, though temporary, is a catalyst for growth. You allow your higher self to lead, trusting that everything is unfolding as it should. Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up, but rather releasing your grip on how things “should” be, allowing your divine truth to shine through.
Self-Remember
In the middle of the storm, remember your divinity. Remember who you truly are: an infinite being with an eternal soul, rooted in love and joy. This step is about connecting with your higher truth, remembering that no matter what is happening externally, you are whole, you are love, you are joy. When you self-remember, the fleeting nature of discomfort becomes clear, and you stand firm in your unshakable worth.
May this serve as a reminder that you are not here to hide from discomfort but to pass through it with grace and understanding. As you pass through emotions (especially the tougher ones), you are not diminished by them but instead.. you expand into a deeper awareness of your infinite self.
This Too Shall Pass (adapted from reddit & simplified for clarity)
Once a king called upon all of his wise men and asked them, “Is there a mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every circumstances, in every place and in every time. In every joy, every sorrow, every defeat and every victory? One answer for all questions? Something which can help me when none of you is available to advise me? Tell me is there any mantra?”
All the wise men were puzzled by the King’s question. They thought and thought. After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which appealed to all of them. They went to the king and gave him something written on paper, with a condition that the king was not to see it out of curiosity.
Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and there seems to be no way, only then he can see it. The King put the papers under his Diamond ring.
Some time later, the neighbors attacked the Kingdom. King and his army fought bravely but lost the battle. The King had to flee on his horse. The enemies were following him. getting closer and closer. Suddenly the King found himself standing at the end of the road - that road was not going anywhere. Underneath there was a rocky valley thousand feet deep. If he jumped into it, he would be finished…and he could not return because it was a small road…the sound of enemy’s horses was approaching fast. The King became restless. There seemed to be no way.
Then suddenly he saw the Diamond in his ring shining in the sun, and he remembered the message hidden in the ring. He opened the diamond and read the message. The message was – “ THIS TOO SHALL PASS ”
The King read it . Again read it. Suddenly something struck him- Yes ! This too will pass. Only a few days ago, I was enjoying my kingdom. I was the mightiest of all the Kings. Yet today, the Kingdom and all my pleasures have gone. I am here trying to escape from enemies. Like those days of luxuries have gone, this day of danger too will pass. A calm came on his face. He kept standing there. The place where he was standing was full of natural beauty. He had never known that such a beautiful place was also a part of his Kingdom.
The revelation of the message had a great effect on him. He relaxed and forgot about those following him. After a few minutes he realized that the noise of the horses and the enemy coming was receding. They moved into some other part of the mountains and were nowhere near him.
The King was very brave. He reorganized his army and fought again. He defeated the enemy and regained his empire. When he returned to his empire after victory, he was received with much fanfare. The whole capital was rejoicing in the victory.
Everyone was in a festive mood. Flowers were being showered on King from every house, from every corner. People were dancing and singing. For a moment King said to himself, “ I am one of the bravest and greatest King. It is not easy to defeat me. With all the reception and celebration he saw an ego emerging in him. ”
Suddenly the Diamond of his ring flashed in the sunlight and reminded him of the message. He open it and read it again: “ THIS TOO SHALL PASS ”.
He became silent. His face went through a total change - from the egoist he moved to a state of utter humbleness. If this too is going to pass, it is not yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours. You are just a watcher. Everything passes by. We are witnesses of all this. We are the perceivers. Life comes and goes. Happiness comes and goes. Sorrow comes and goes.
Now as you have read this story, just sit silently and evaluate your own life. This too will pass. Think of the moments of joy and victory in your life. Think of the moment of Sorrow and defeat. Are they permanent ? They all come and pass away.
Life just passes away. There is nothing permanent in this world. Every thing changes except the law of change. Think over it from your own perspective. You have seen all the changes. You have survived all setbacks, all defeats and all sorrows. All have passed away. The problems in the present, they too will pass away. Because nothing remains forever. Joy and sorrow are the two faces of the same coin. They both will pass away.
You are just a witness of change. Experience it, understand it, and enjoy the present moment - this too shall pass.
