How to be more Devoted to your Desires
Falling more in love with your life each day. Being inspired by the process not only the outcome. Enjoying what you are doing in the moment. Taking steps towards a bigger vision. This is what devotion looks like. Many in society value devotion but not enough to emulate it in their own lives. Why? lack of confidence. no self-trust. caring more about others opinions. not embracing the beginning. Yes, may its one or all the above. What we can all agree on is devotion brings meaning to this human experience.
In this blog post, we'll chat about the devotion equation and the power of giving life meaning. Glad you are here, let's dive in.
You define your life (no one else)
Life's meaning is defined by how you live it. We each have been given free will to approach the circumstances in our lives that we have chosen. YES, chosen. Many of us have been implanted with the victim program, which stems from the belief that life happens to us rather than through/for us. I dive into this concept and give tips on how to break out on my YouTube channel - here.
To begin, ask yourself questions like: What do I want out of life? What am I here to do? How do I live a fulfilling life? What will give my life meaning? It may feel overwhelming at first. But you chose to be here to reveal to yourself - your truth. Regardless of how we choose to use our time, we are devoting are lives to something. It is always something meaningful because our awareness brings meaning to it.
What we 'pay' attention to pays us.
The beauty about devotion is that it comes down to a simple truth - that you are worthy to express yourself. By devoting your time, energy and attention to certain path, this is a form of self-expression. You may look around at society and find that authentic devotion is not common. Maybe even in your own life. But now that you know you bring the meaning - let's find out how to channel it.
The Devotion Equation
In the stock market, you can invest in stocks which are parts of companies. In life, you can invest in experiences which are parts of your vision. In the stock market, you accrue compound interest. In life, you accrue compound expression. By keeping yourself in the game, you will eventually win. Winning looks like experiencing your desires, expressing your true self and understanding the nature of the universe.
This is why devotion is paramount. Devotion is the conscious building of compound interest in your life. Whatever you consistently do, think, behave and believe becomes apart of your experience via your frequency.
The Devotion Equation: Devotion = Discipline + Dedication
Contrary to popular belief, we all are disciplined. Discipline is defined as "being a disciple of". Each of us are disciples of a belief pattern - or way of being that we hold to be true. It's what we do over and over again. How we think over and over again. It is like a hamster on a wheel, continuing in the same cycle. Pair this discipline with dedication and boom, we have what we are devoted to. Dedication is a test of commitment. Ask yourself: Are you committed to inner peace, joy and contentment? The beauty about devotion is that it can work FOR us. Not merely "against" us.
But How?
Devotion begins with conscious action. Becoming more aware of your actions and where they come from is the first step to being a more conscious being. Asking yourself questions, really dialoguing with yourself will reveal many of your beliefs to your conscious mind. I share keys and tips to unlocking awareness through mediation in my book How to meditate like a goddess - check it out here.
To cultivate deeper devotion on the mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of life consider the following:
🦋Daily Reflection: Reflect on your values and what gives your life meaning. Developing your personal philosophy will help you create a more authentic expression of self. Take time to assess your progress & process while making any needed adjustments.
🦋Practicing Gratitude: Being grateful is the highest form of alchemy. Keep a journal or a sticky note reminder to reflect on experiences you are grateful for.
🦋Self- Compassion: Be kind to yourself. Recognize that if you knew better, that you'd do better. Mistakes are a part of the journey. It is simply your job to evolve and learn from them.
🦋Life long learning: Challenge & Explore your mind by reading, taking courses, or picking up new hobbies.
🦋Volunteer or Build a Business: Engage in community service or acts of kindness. Helping others through business or volunteering will enhance your sense of purpose. Visionaries act on reasons beyond the self.
🦋Meditation or Mindfulness: Set aside time each day for meditation or mindfulness practices to connect with your inner self.
"Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it. He who doesn't, pays it" - attributed to Albert Einstein
You are the operant power in your universe. There is only one earth but 8.5 billion perspectives of earth. What we are devoted to creates our experiences. By exploring your inner world, you will become the master of your outer world. We came here to be God over our circumstance. As I dive deeper into my divinity, I empower you to do the same through Reiki, Meditation and Yoga. Glad you are here.
